About Data Covered

By using Clip Studio’s cloud service, you can backup Clip Studio Paint materials, projects, and application settings.
For details on using the cloud service, please read “How to Use the Cloud Service”.

Please refer to the following list for details on settings and conditions that are not applicable for backup, a well as differences in operating systems.

Note: About Backups

From Clip Studio Ver. 1.5.0 onwards, you can only back up data from Ver. 1.5.0 or later.
To back up data from other software or for previous versions, please use Clip Studio Ver. 1.2.0.

Additional materials × These are the materials included when you purchase the app.
Materials downloaded from Assets × Materials found in the Sub Tool Detail palette under Brush shape or Texture can be synced.
Converted materials (✓) Materials converted from the CLIP Material folder in IllustStudio or Manga Studio 4.0, or converted from “Tone Material Collection Disc” (Japanese only) cannot be synced. Please convert the materials on each computer.
Projects Clip Studio Paint Created projects (✓)
  • Projects marked as “Group work” under Page Management in Clip Studio Paint cannot be synced.
  • In projects containing a file object layer, the reference file for the file object layer is not synchronized.
Application settings Clip Studio Paint Tool/Sub Tool settings (✓)
  • For text, Settings of font list and Mixing font cannot be synced if the fonts are not on the device.
  • If materials that refer to brush shapes and textures on the Sub Tool Detail are not stored on the device recovering the additional materials, these materials will revert to the initial settings. Please install on the device that is receiving the recovered data.
Preferences (✓)
  • Memory in Color conversion settings and Performance, and Smartphone connection settings cannot be synced.
  • The View setting in Edit text cannot be restored if the font is not on the device.
Shortcut settings
Modifier Key settings
(✓) Some shortcuts using the Control and command key cannot be restored if applying across different operating systems.
Wacom stylus pen settings (✓) These can only be restored if applying across different iPad or iPhone devices.
Window (View/Location) (✓)
  • Locations of windows can only be restored if applying across smartphones. Locations of windows cannot be restored if applying across different operating systems. Please use Workspace for this.
  • Depending on your monitor set-up, window settings may not be restored correctly. (For example, when switching from two screens to one screen)
Preset (New) (✓)
  • These are the presets shown when creating a new file.
  • Cannot be restored if applying across different operating systems.
  • If additional materials are used in the preset template, then the template cannot be restored.
Preset (Export) (✓) Cannot be restored if applying across different operating systems.

Other

  • Crop mark/Inner border settings

× You cannot sync settings that are dependent on your work environment or settings related to how you save files. In addition, the non-listed settings in the Convert to lines and tones dialog box and Export Settings dialog box cannot be synced.
